Monthly bookkeeping
Day-to-day books kept clean, every month, on a schedule you can rely on.
Recurring monthly bookkeeping is the bread and butter of what we do. We work inside Xero, QuickBooks Online, Wave, or FreshBooks — whichever platform you're already on — and handle the routine bookkeeping so you can focus on running the business.
What's included
- Daily or weekly bank feed reconciliation depending on volume
- Categorisation of all transactions to the correct accounts
- Sales invoices entered or imported from your invoicing system
- Bills entered, matched to payments, and reconciled
- Credit card and PayPal accounts reconciled to statements
- Month-end reports prepared: P&L, balance sheet, aged receivables & payables
- VAT/GST tracking through the period (returns prepared separately if engaged)
- One review call per quarter to walk through the numbers
Xero & QuickBooks setup
A clean, properly-configured accounting platform from day one.
Software setup is a one-off project that pays for itself many times over. The difference between a well-configured Xero or QuickBooks file and a quickly-set-up one is the difference between five years of clean books and five years of "we'll fix it next month."
What's included
- New Xero or QuickBooks Online subscription set up under your name
- Chart of accounts designed specifically for your business type and reporting needs
- Bank feeds connected and verified for all your accounts
- Tax rates configured (VAT, GST, sales tax) for your jurisdictions
- Opening balances entered from your prior books, with a clean cut-off date
- Tracking categories or classes set up if you need departmental or location reporting
- Invoice and quote templates branded with your logo and details
- 30-minute training session so you understand the day-to-day workflow
Migrations from other systems
We also handle migrations: spreadsheet to Xero, FreshBooks to QuickBooks, QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, Wave to Xero, and so on. Migrations include data conversion, cut-over planning, and verification that opening balances match.
Backlog & catch-up
Months or years behind? We bring everything up to date — properly.
Catch-up bookkeeping is one of our most common engagements. Business owners often start strong, fall behind during a busy season, and never quite catch up. After 6, 12, or 18 months, the gap feels insurmountable. It isn't — but it does need to be done methodically.
How we handle it
- Initial scoping to understand the volume, complexity, and condition of existing records
- Fixed quote based on transaction volume and number of months to reconcile
- Bank statements and source documents collected in batches
- Methodical month-by-month reconciliation with proper VAT/tax tracking
- Year-end accounts and tax computations prepared if needed alongside the catch-up
- Recommendations to keep on top of bookkeeping going forward
If you're behind on filings — late VAT returns, missed Companies House deadlines, overdue self-assessment — we can also help prepare the documentation to bring those up to date as part of the project.

↑ Back to topEcommerce bookkeeping
Specialist accounting for Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Etsy, and beyond.
Ecommerce bookkeeping is genuinely different from standard bookkeeping. Marketplace settlements, multi-currency payouts, A2X integrations, inventory tracking, and platform-specific fee structures all need to be set up correctly to get clean reporting. We've handled this work for over 100 ecommerce clients across Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Etsy, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce.
What's included
- Platform-to-Xero/QuickBooks integration setup (typically via A2X — we are A2X Certified for Accountants and Bookkeepers)
- Marketplace fee categorisation: referral fees, FBA fees, advertising, storage, etc.
- Multi-currency setup for sellers on multiple Amazon marketplaces
- Inventory tracking using Xero's built-in tools or DEAR/Cin7 for complex cases
- Stripe and PayPal reconciliation with proper clearing accounts
- VAT/sales tax configuration including OSS for EU cross-border sales
- Monthly reconciliation and reporting tailored to ecommerce metrics
Our blog has detailed guides on the specifics: Amazon FBA bookkeeping in 2026 and Stripe payouts in Xero.
AirBnB & short-term rentals
Specialist bookkeeping for hosts and short-term rental operators.
Short-term rental accounting has its own quirks. AirBnB and Booking.com payouts come with their own fee structures, multi-property hosts need property-level reporting, and tax treatment varies significantly depending on whether you hold properties personally, through an SPV, or in a property partnership.
What's included
- AirBnB and Booking.com settlement reports reconciled correctly
- Per-property tracking using Xero's tracking categories
- Cleaning, supplies, and maintenance costs categorised against the right property
- Mortgage interest, council tax, and utility allocations
- Furnished holiday let (FHL) tax positioning if applicable in your jurisdiction
- VAT registration analysis if your gross income approaches threshold
UK hosts specifically: we can advise on the implications of operating through a personal holding versus a limited company, and the tax effects of FHL status changes that have come into effect post-2025.
Accounts & tax prep
Year-end accounts and tax computations, prepared for your review and filing.
We prepare year-end statutory accounts and tax computations to a professional standard, ready for you (or your tax agent) to review and submit. This is our "preparation-only" model — we deliver the documents, you (or your registered agent) submit them.
What we prepare
- UK limited companies: statutory accounts (FRS 105 or FRS 102 1A), CT600 corporation tax computation, draft Companies House filings
- UK sole traders: profit & loss summary, draft Self Assessment computation
- UK partnerships: partnership accounts, draft partnership return and partner statements
- International: we prepare equivalent documentation for clients in the US, Australia, Canada, and beyond, working with your local tax agent for filing
Why preparation-only?
The preparation-only model means you maintain the agent relationship with your local tax authority. For UK clients, this typically means you keep your local UK accountant for filings while we handle preparation; for international clients, you keep your local tax agent. This structure works well for businesses that want technical bookkeeping expertise plus the convenience of a local filing relationship.
Inventory & integrations
DEAR, Cin7, and other accounting add-ons set up properly.
Once a business reaches a certain size or complexity, the built-in inventory in Xero or QuickBooks isn't enough. Multiple SKUs, multiple warehouses, manufacturing, kits and bundles, B2B price tiers — all of this calls for a proper inventory management system that integrates with your accounting platform.
Tools we work with
- Cin7 Core (formerly DEAR Inventory) — our most-recommended solution for ecommerce and product-based businesses
- A2X for marketplace integration (Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, Walmart, eBay)
- Hubdoc and Dext for receipt and bill capture
- WorkflowMax and Karbon for project-based businesses
- Stripe, GoCardless, Wise integrations and clearing-account setups
What setup includes
- Tool selection consultation if you're unsure which platform fits
- Initial configuration including products, locations, and price lists
- Connection to your accounting platform with proper journal mapping
- Opening stock import and reconciliation
- User permissions and workflow setup
- Training session for your team
Invoice & template design
Custom Xero DOCX templates that look like your brand, not Xero's.
Xero's default invoice templates are functional but generic. Custom DOCX templates let you send invoices, quotes, statements, purchase orders, and credit notes that look properly designed — branded, well-laid-out, and consistent with the rest of your business communications.
What's included
- Custom DOCX templates for any of: invoices, quotes, purchase orders, credit notes, statements, remittance advices
- Branded with your logo, colour palette, and typography
- Multi-currency support if needed
- Tax number, payment terms, and bank details properly placed
- QR codes for payment links if you use them
- Test runs with real data to verify everything renders correctly
- Source files (DOCX) provided so you or your team can make minor edits later
Templates are typically delivered within 5-7 working days of brief approval. From $29 (~£21) for a single template; bundles available for multiple template types.
Advisory & reporting
Management reports and analysis to support better business decisions.
Bookkeeping tells you what happened. Advisory work helps you decide what to do next. Once your books are clean and reliable, the same data can power management reports, budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and financial analysis that actually informs decisions.
What we offer
- Monthly management packs: P&L with prior-period comparison, KPIs, cash position, AR/AP aging, narrative commentary on the month
- Cash-flow forecasts: rolling 13-week or 12-month projections, scenario modelling for hires, capex, or revenue changes
- Budget vs actuals: variance analysis with explanations, monthly tracking against an annual budget
- Pricing analysis: gross margin by product, customer, or channel; identifying loss-leading SKUs or unprofitable client work
- Ad-hoc analysis: "should I hire?", "is this product line worth keeping?", "what's our break-even?", and similar one-off questions answered with real data
Advisory work is bespoke — we'll scope what you need based on what decisions you're trying to make.
