Our services
What we provide
We offer cloud bookkeeping, accounting preparation, software setup, and related advisory services to small businesses worldwide. Our work is performed remotely using modern cloud accounting platforms — primarily Xero and QuickBooks Online.
Preparation-only model
We operate as a preparation-only practice. We prepare the books, accounts, returns, and computations to a professional standard, and we deliver them to you for your review and submission. We do not act as your registered tax agent before HMRC or any other tax authority unless that is specifically agreed and documented in a Letter of Engagement.
Letter of Engagement
Every paid engagement is governed by a separate Letter of Engagement, which sets out:
- The specific services to be provided
- Fees and payment terms
- Your responsibilities (timely provision of records, software access, etc.)
- Our responsibilities and the standard of work
- The duration of the engagement and notice periods
If anything in a Letter of Engagement conflicts with these Terms, the Letter of Engagement applies.
Pricing and fees
Prices on this website are starting points and shown primarily in US Dollars (USD), with approximate GBP equivalents provided for convenience. We can also provide quotes in GBP, AUD, CAD, EUR, or SGD. The actual fee for an engagement is agreed during scoping based on volume, complexity, and software setup.
Recurring fees are typically charged monthly in advance. One-off project fees may require an upfront deposit. Late payments may incur interest at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable.
Cancellation and refunds
Recurring engagements can be cancelled by either party with 30 days' written notice unless otherwise agreed in writing. We do not provide automatic refunds for unused portions of monthly fees, but we will work fairly with you on case-by-case requests.
For one-off services, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis where the work has not yet started or where significant issues with deliverables cannot be reasonably resolved.
Your responsibilities
To allow us to provide our services effectively, you agree to:
- Provide complete and accurate information about your business and finances
- Provide source documents (bank statements, invoices, receipts, etc.) on a timely basis
- Grant the necessary access to your accounting software
- Review the work we deliver and approve it before submission to any authority
- Pay invoices according to the agreed schedule
The accuracy of any output depends on the completeness and accuracy of the records you provide.
Our responsibilities and limitations
We will perform our work with reasonable care and skill, in line with the standards expected of a professionally qualified accountant.
However, our liability is limited to the fees paid to us by you in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, except in cases of fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
We are not liable for:
- Inaccuracies arising from incorrect or incomplete information you provide
- Penalties or interest arising from your late submission of returns or filings (unless caused by our negligence)
- Losses arising from third-party software, banking, or platform failures outside our control
- Indirect or consequential losses
Confidentiality
We treat all client information as confidential. We will not disclose your information to any third party without your consent, except where required by law (e.g. anti-money-laundering reporting, response to court orders) or to our own professional advisors under confidentiality.
Intellectual property
All content on this website — including text, images, logos, design, and code — is owned by or licensed to Small Business Online Accountants & Bookkeepers Ltd. and protected by copyright. You may not copy or republish content without our written permission.
Templates, working papers, and methodologies developed by us during an engagement remain our intellectual property. The deliverables produced specifically for you (your books, accounts, returns) are yours.
Third-party services
Our website integrates with third-party services including Calendly (for booking), Google Analytics (for visitor analytics), Google Fonts (for typography), and WhatsApp (for messaging). Each third party operates under its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for those third parties' services or policies.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any Letter of Engagement are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales, except that we may take action in any jurisdiction necessary to protect our rights.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. Material changes affecting active clients will be communicated directly.
